Southern Africa

Having just posted this to student_travel I will apologize if you are reading this for the second time. I am currently planning a trip to Southern Africa. I am thinking of first of all taking a tour that starts in Johannesburg South Africa, goes into Mozambique, through Swaziland and down the coast of South Africa to Cape Town. After the tour I would like to travel on my own up from Cape Town to Windhoek in Namibia. I am a 24 year old female. I do have a fair amount of traveling experience having traveled Europe (England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, portugal and Sweden) entirely solo and South America (Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina and Uruguay) mostly solo. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Namibia and knows how safe it is for a female traveler there. Also, how easy is it to get around by bus and is it easy to find places like hostels to stay in? Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
